The Power
Intro
It all started when I finally accepted
I set in my mind that it was right and true
When the last word, "Amen", flowed out of my mouth
The power of God surged through me
I was no longer blind and no longer deaf
I could see clearly things I could't see before
The truth of life was revealed to me
For the first time in my life I was spiritually alive
I couldn't believe how real it was
The reality of the world was unexpected

Body
Listening to people talk they don't realize what they say
They're blind to the one who can save them from dismay
They search and seek yet never find
The true love of God that brings peace of mind
His endless love is overwhelmingly vast
When I first spoke His name He forgot my horrid past
He made me new and changed my life
And comforted me from the pain of the world's strife
Though some say He's fake, I know He is real
From the first moment I knew the way He made me feel
He touched me with fire yet was gentle and kind
The living Son of God was all I needed to find
He snatched me from the devil's tightly clenched grip
And canceled out my lasting debt
When the troubles of the world are too much to handle
I hear His soft, soothing voice say, "My child, do not fret"
My Lord's name is Jesus, full of glory and power
I'll see Him soon majestically in His glorious returning hour
Though no man knows the time and no man knows the day
I'll know by what the signs in the Word of God say
Wars and famine, earthquakes and sin
Will mark the day when the Church of Christ will win
I'll rejoice on that day when Jesus returns in His glory
Then the whole entire world will know it wasn't just a story
But that the Word of God was true all along
And that's why I sing to the Lord a new song
